I wish emotions came with subtitles. Maybe then, I wouldn’t have to fumble for words that never seem to fit, or bite my tongue when I should be screaming. I wish you could just read my mind, decode the static in my heart, understand the silence between my breaths.
But thoughts aren’t loud enough, and my feelings don’t translate well. So I just sit here, hoping you’ll notice the way my hands shake or the way my eyes linger too long on nothing. Hoping you’ll hear the words I can’t say.
Because sometimes, the hardest thing isn’t feeling—it’s trying to make someone else understand.
